Thai Language Immersion in Chiang Mai
Known as the Rose of the North, Chiang Mai is blessed with stunning natural beauty and unique indigenous cultural identity.
Founded by King Mengrai the Great as the capital of the Lanna Thai kingdom by merging the various city states in the region in 1296, Today Chiang Mai is the economic, commu-nications, cultural and tourism centre of Northern Thailand.
About 700 km from Bangkok, Chiang Mai is situated on the Mae Ping River basin some 310 meters above sea level. Surrounded by high mountain ranges, the terrain is mainly jungles and mountains, parts of which are within national parks which are still fertile and verdant with plentiful flora and fauna. There are many sites and locations where tourists prefer to visit to study the lifestyle of the tribal people who live on high hills.
This area offes so many things to see and do:
Inthanon National Park: Thailand's highest mountain (2,565 metres). The lovely Wachirathan, Siriphum and Mae Pan waterfalls share the mountain with Meo and Karen hilltribe settlements. Forest above 1,800 metres is covered with lichens and wild orchids.
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep: This temple is Chiang Mai's most inportant and visible landmark, and overlooks the city from its forested mountain backdrop
Fang Hot Springs. Locate at Ban Pin, 50 hot springs occupy a 10-acre forest setting.Three boil continuously with a strong smell of sulphur. Water temperatures at the springs range from 90 to 100 degrees Celsius
Mae Ya Waterfall: his is located 12 kilometres from Chom Thong market and is best visited by local mini-bus.
Elephant Camps: There are riverside enclaves north of Chiang Mai Which feature daily show of elrphants at work every morning

Chiang Mai, surrounded by mountainous countryside and close to both Burma and Laos, offers a region of Thailand that is perfect for the traveler who wants an alternative learning holiday.
Chiang Mai is Thailand's second largest city and is a center for excursions to the region's ancient and beautiful temples, teak forests and their working elephants, caves and alluring waterfalls. Visitors can take a white- knuckle ride on a bamboo raft, and then stay in a jungle tree house amid exotic flora or journey to the northern hills to visit various tribes.

Our school was established in 1985 and is located within the old city, surrounded by the old city walls and a moat. It is located in a traditional Thai building just off the main road and has its own beautiful mature garden. Due to its central location everything of interest is usually within walking distance.
The school is small, but caters to all language levels and offers a very friendly and personal teacher/student relationship.

Visit ancient and beautiful temples, teak forests and their working elephants, exploring caves and waterfalls, excursions to the northern hills where various tribes live, spending time with local monks, or walking around picturesque Temples.
Visit Chiang Mai historical museum, spend time learning about Chiang Mai legacy, a local temple located up high on the top of a mountain in Chiang Mai 'WatPhraTadDoiSuThep".
Enjoy a Thai cooking course, in the mornings you will visit the local market and select required seasonings for your selected dish then later prepare Thai dishes under the guidance of your instructor.

Arrival airport: CHANG MAI
Fly direct to Bangkok then catch a connecting flight to Chiang Mai. The domestic flights are quite cheap in Thailand if booked in the country, so you may want to wait until you arrive in the country first. Chiang Mai airport is about 10 km from the city center.
