MUNICH, GERMANY - GERMAN IMMERSION

Class Schedule
Please note that during the summer months, the course timetable may be adjusted and some programs may be taught in the afternoons. In such a case, the cultural activities would take place in the morning, rather than in the afternoon. Your instructors will keep you informed.

The basis of our courses is the modern usage of the German language. We focus on developing the understanding of both, the spoken and the written language as well as the ability to express oneself. The teaching follows a clear syllabus and is geared towards training grammar and sentence structures and expanding vocabulary. The variety of teaching methods guarantees optimum learning success.

In individual, partner or group work, you will improve your reading and listening comprehension as well as written and oral expression. We believe that the most important aspect of learning a new language is oral communication and having fun. You can put this into practice not only in role playing, language learning games and discussions, but also during our arranged leisure activities.

All books and teaching materials are provided except dictionaries. Students receive books, a copybook and a pen, a verb wheel as well as all relevant photocopies.

School Methodology and Content

The teaching follows a clear progression and aims to train grammar and sentence structures and expand vocabulary. The alternating of teaching methods guarantees optimum learning success. The course system contains 6 levels. The teaching plan and progression of each level are set according to selected textbooks. The organization of the levels is carried out in accordance with the examination system of the Goethe Institute: after completion of the basic level, students can acquire the Zertifikat Deutsch als Fremdsprache.

After completion of the intermediate level, they can be allowed to the Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung and following the advanced level to the Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung.

A placement test is held at the beginning of the course to guarantee the placing of the students in the appropriate course level. A language certificate will be given to the student at end of each course.

The school organizes guided sightseeing tours and visits to museums, to cultural and sports events, to pubs and discos as well as excursions to “must have seen” places which you should not miss to visit during your stay in our country.

Booking this vacation is easy and we accept most major credit cards. We require a deposit of $300 and a completed booking form. After checking availability we normally confirm a booking within 24 hours.

Arrival airport: MUNICH

You can arrive into Munich, the airport is located 28km (18 miles) northeast of the city center.
Website: www.munich-airport.de

Munich's multi-level Franz-Josef-Strauss airport is only slightly less busy than Frankfurt's mega Flughafen, but its way less intimidating. Flights bound for Europe, New York and Sydney jet in and out, either direct or via Frankfurt, and a host of German cities are served by at least six flights daily.

In Munich you will encounter a moderately humid climate, with rain throughout most of the year. Summers are generally warm with some rainy days, the hottest month being July. During this sunny season you’ll enjoy temperatures of between 10 and 32 degrees Celsius (50 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit). Moderately light clothes should be fine but it is always a good idea to bring a rainproof coat along for the occasional rainy day or chillier night.
